"House of Payne" So Hard to Say Goodbye TV Episode 2011

malik on house of payne

Twitter fans have expressed confusion and even rage at Malik’s appearances. Fans have commented on the recent demise of Black Panther’s famous hero, Chadwick Boseman. They have also not shied away from commenting on his sudden weight loss controversy.

How is social media reacting to Doc Shaw’s weight loss?

His loyal fans are upset over the fact that they had no idea that Chadwick was sick until the unfortunate news of his death arrived. Since its return, fans can’t-hold back but noticed one of the lead actors of House of Payne. The actor, Doc Shaw, who plays the character Malik, grabbed the majority of the attention of the viewers. The actor has lost a significant amount of weight, which the fans can’t help but notice. Doug Praw, a partner at the Holland & Knight law firm, was surprised to see the measure pass.

However, once they were able to put the addiction behind them, they remarried and are the proud parents of 4 children. Here are the other main actors featured in the House of Payne season 11. However, he managed to transform this constant shaming into a source of motivation, leading him to shed a substantial amount of weight and greatly enhance his self-esteem.

Record deals and tax-avoidance maneuvers: Southern California’s priciest sales of 2023

Furthermore, he acknowledged that diabetes runs in his family. Doc Shaw, the actor who portrayed Malik, has transitioned from a child to a young adult. Beyond his physical transformation, what truly captured everyone’s notice was Shaw’s weight. House of Payne revolves around the Payne family who resides in the suburban Atlanta. It is noted that all main cast members are credited only for the episodes in which they appear.

Finally, the fans did get back the original House of Payne with the original casts and continued storyline after so much wait. Tyler Perry’s House of Payne aired in September 2020 and can be streamed on BET. The actor made his final appearance in The Suite Life on Deck on August 20, 2010. His next move was an appearance on Pair of Kings alongside Mitchel Musso from Hannah Montana. On the Pair of King’s theme song titled “Top of the World”, that’s where Shaw made his singing and rapping debut.

Whatever it is, the house where Charles Manson’s followers killed Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in 1969 just sold for $1.875 million. You have to raise funds to combat the lack of affordable housing, but you’re doing it on the backs of the real estate community that is now dealing with higher taxes and higher interest rates,” he said. The measure includes language that would allow city leaders to amend the rules if it furthers the purpose of the initiative, he said. If it were up to him, Phillips would exempt multifamily housing developers from the tax given L.A.’s dependence on for-profit development.

In this case, a mix of strategic wording and the help of a red-hot real estate market with a shortage of homes and an abundance of buyers. It’s the second time the infamous estate has traded hands in three years. In 2019 it was scooped up by Zak Bagans, host of the paranormal reality show “Ghost Adventures,” who planned to film a project there but later called it off out of respect for the LaBianca family. He takes the complaints from real estate agents with a grain of salt, saying it’s their job to criticize any new tax or regulation. He said if the agents were really worried about the sellers, they’d take a smaller cut themselves. Shane Phillips, the housing initiative project manager for UCLA’s Lewis Center, wrote a report that helped inspire Culver City’s transfer tax.

On August 11, however, drama quickly ensued when he was accused of calling a female co-host a “slut” on his old podcast. It all started when fans went into a frenzy after Mayim referred to the opening Jeopardy! The Big Bang Theory alum defended herself from social media critics, who bashed her skills on the show. After that, he had a main role in Disney’s "The Suite Life on Deck" from 2009 to 2010, where he was part of the cast with Dylan and Cole Sprouse, and Debby Ryan.

L.A.’s rich are already scheming ways to avoid new ‘mansion tax’

Many of Doc Shaw’s followers became concerned about his drastic physical transformation, questioning if he was suffering from a serious illness. Conversely, there were also individuals who seized upon this situation as an opportunity to condemn those who made comments about another person’s appearance. The actor successfully shed approximately 60 to 70 pounds within a span of two years. During an interview, the actor disclosed that he embarked on a weight-loss endeavor, stating that the consumption of fresh juices at breakfast had significantly contributed to his remarkable transformation.

Shaw has an exceptional relationship with his mother, and he acknowledges that she has been integral in his acting career. The young man often posts photos of her on his Instagram account with heartwarming captions to honor her. Terrell Smith has a diverse writing background having penned material for a wide array of clients including the federal government and Bravo television personalities. When he’s not writing as Terrell, he’s writing under his pseudonym Tavion Scott, creating scripts for his audio drama podcasts.

When he was asked about the advice he would give young people struggling with obesity, he stressed the importance of being active. Ashli, for example, cautioned people on Twitter against judging people, especially if they do not understand what they were going through in life. However, at the moment, he has shed a good amount of weight, making him lose the boyish look most fans were used to. Doc Shaw’s rapid physical change made his followers wonder if he was seriously ill. Many others, however, used the situation as a chance to criticize anyone commenting about someone else’s appearance.

After a long hiatus, the beloved sitcom House of Payne made a triumphant comeback. Created by Tyler Perry, this comedic drama first premiered in 2007 and enjoyed a successful run of eight seasons. Despite being canceled, the show made a surprising return with its ninth season after several years. The series revolves around a multi-generational family living under one roof in Atlanta led by patriarch Curtis Payne and his wife Ella. He also admitted that he used to be “very unhealthy, very overweight.” He explained that he made the decision to lose weight when he began struggling with severe weight-related illnesses.

Additionally, they have openly discussed their concerns about his sudden weight loss controversy. Many loyal fans express their disappointment at not being aware of Chadwick’s illness until the tragic news of his death broke. Ever since its comeback, fans have been unable to ignore the noticeable transformation of one of the main actors in House of Payne.

The American actor and singer began making money when he was still young. Through the assistance of his parents, he was able to secure ads and television commercial deals. Doc, as he is commonly called, is worth a staggering USD 750 thousand. The chubby lad you used to watch on previous episodes is still the same person you see today. What has changed is the physique, which is as a result of deliberate weight loss. The American actor said that he decided to lose weight when he began struggling with weight-related complications.

IHOP does provide information online about which of its menu items contain the top eight food allergens (plus gluten and sulfites), but these are not included on in-person restaurant menus. The chain also cannot guarantee any menu item will be completely free of allergens since all food is prepared in a single kitchen. Keep your meal low-fat by ordering an egg white omelette with zero-fat fresh fruit on the side (rather than a fried item such as hash browns). The grilled tilapia dinner is also a good choice; the 55+ menu version has just 6g fat, while the main menu version has 11g. IHOP's selection of hand-crafted melts includes meat-based sandwiches topped with melted cheese and pressed until toasted. Generally, each item on this part of the menu is a high-sodium option.

If you want an omelette with meat, look to the chicken fajita omelette. With chicken, peppers, onions, and cheese, it delivers 890 calories, 57g fat, 23g saturated fat, 22g carbohydrates, 73g protein, and 2,130mg sodium. If craving steak, look to the sirloin steak tips and eggs combo, which delivers 990 calories, 52g fat, 15g saturated fat, 77g carbohydrates, 55g protein, and 2,670mg sodium prior to selecting your eggs. Part of what’s important is we’ve integrated our technology, so we’re focused on better digital experiences for our guests,” Donahue said. The chain today launched its “International Bank of Pancakes,” offering guests the opportunity to earn digital tokens, called PanCoins, that can be used to buy more food.

IHOP’s egg white spinach and mushroom omelette is a nutritious choice on the omelettes menu, with 610 calories, 46g fat, 20g saturated fat, 15g carbohydrates, 37g protein, and 1,890mg sodium. On IHOP’s omelettes menu section, you’ll find about a half dozen options that all start with eggs. They offer plenty of protein and some vitamin D in a low-calorie package. But most of IHOP's omelettes contain a lot more than just eggs. While you might fear that everything at IHOP comes slathered in syrup and laden with butter—and many items do—the chain does offer some lighter fare. For an occasional weekend brunch (or even lunch or dinner), a meal at IHOP can fit in a healthy lifestyle.

Each year, IHOP restaurants serve over 700 million pancakes, 20 million pounds of breakfast meats, and over 300 million cups of coffee. The majority of options in this part of the menu are very high in calories, fat, and sodium. These menu items come with a choice of two buttermilk pancakes, French fries, fresh fruit, or a salad as a side. A short stack of the original buttermilk pancakes (3 pancakes) provides 450 calories, 18g fat, 7g saturated fat, 59g carbohydrates, 13g protein, 11g sugar, and 1,560mg sodium. This pancake option is the lowest-calorie item on this part of the menu, and the smaller portion (a full stack has five total pancakes) gives you the sweet treat with fewer calories.

According to Restaurant Business Online, the PanCoins are the equivalent of points, which you can earn and save up for discounts or even free food. There’s something about the smell of pancakes that always puts a smile on my face. A stack of sweet, light, and fluffy pancakes is arguably the best breakfast food there is. For this effort, customers will be invited to add $1 or more onto their checks in-restaurant or when ordering online. Every dollar donated to the campaign during the month of February funds ten meals for those in need. Though it wasn't a routing, Denny's did edge out IHOP by two points overall.

If you're dining in, you can scan a QR code to automatically add the Pancoins to your account. The online registration form also notes that if you enter your birth date, you can receive free PanCoins (and maybe even free pancakes) on your birthday. Once you earn a certain PanCoin amount, you can redeem them for free pancakes, burgers, and more. The grilled tilapia dinner from the 55+ menu is a filling and diabetes-friendly meal. For a nutritious low-carb meal, build-your-own omelette with plenty of veggies and add protein with a meat side, such as a slice of ham. To provide a low-calorie option for kids, choose the macaroni and cheese with applesauce. Its sugar content comes from applesauce (instead of chocolate sauce), and together the meal provides 360 calories, 9g fat, 2.5g saturated fat, 58g carbohydrates, 11g protein, and 830mg sodium. The 55+ grilled tilapia dinner with a side of broccoli and rice contains just 310 calories, 6g fat, 1g saturated fat, 39g carbohydrates, and 1,300mg sodium—but still offers 25g protein. The classic burger (780 calories, 52g fat, 17g saturated fat, 46g carbohydrates, 32g protein, and 2,000mg sodium) is lowest in calories and fat of the burger options—but be wary of its extremely high sodium content.

Along with the newly acquired IHOP chain, International Industries franchised many other restaurant and food service concepts, including Copper Penney coffee shops, Love's Wood Pit Barbecue, and the Orange Julius chain. Quick — name your favorite thing to top a stack of hot-off-the-griddle IHOP buttermilk pancakes with. Is it the impossibly light and fluffy scoop of whipped butter that melts effortlessly into the golden brown surface? Or is it the lake of that sweet "old fashioned" syrup you pour generously over the top? In September 2018, IHOP officially joined the beer-makers club (with a little help from brewer Keegan Ales in New York) when they debuted their IHOPS brew. And just like with the chain's omelettes, their famous buttermilk pancake batter was actually infused into the beer — but this wasn't just a plain ol' buttermilk pancake beer.

The Daily Meal explains that the addition of this secret ingredients means that IHOP's omelettes are going to be fluffier, and that's due to the additional moisture lended to the situation by the batter. It's also going to give the eggs a bit more structure, meaning it's going to fill you up. And last but not least, that batter will provide just a hint of sweetness to the overall flavor of the dish. Omelette purists might turn up their noses, but there's no denying that IHOP's pancake batter makes their iteration of another breakfast staple unique. The addition of fried chicken means this dish provides 1.030 calories, 55g fat, 14g saturated fat, 92g carbohydrates, 23g protein, and 2,080mg sodium. Adding eggs and meat to waffles also adds calories and fat, at least 120 calories for eggs and 60 calories for meat options.

Ihop has always been one of my favorite restaurants ever since I was a small child. It started off a little shaky when the nice young lady seating patrons seated others before me being I was a party of 1. Despite the business and the complains from the party next to me he still kept a smile on his face trying to find a resolution to their issues.

The single Belgian waffle provides 590 calories, 33g fat, 10g saturated fat, 60g carbohydrates, 9g protein, and 840mg sodium. And, during Yum Brands' Q2 call in July, for instance, executives noted that Taco Bell Rewards members spent 35% more at the company compared to their pre-loyalty behavior. Meanwhile, Chipotle's rewards customers also spend and visit more, according to CEO Brian Niccol. “People come into IHOP because they want to have fun experiences and we are focused on rewarding existing and new guests for spending time together with us,” she said.

“There’s no one on this planet that I have spent more time with and have all of the same memories with growing up than you, and I cherish them all. The reality star revealed that she had a birthday breakfast at IHOP on her Instagram Story, reposting a few photos and videos from her friends.

With more side dishes, you'll also be adding more calories, carbohydrates, and sodium to the meal. IHOP's sides offer a varied mix of items to accompany breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Ordering a side that offers a serving of fruit or vegetables can be a tasty way to create a more balanced meal. The classic bowl with bacon has bacon pieces, cheese, hash browns, and eggs scrambled in a bowl. This option provides 850 calories, 63g fat, 22g saturated fat, 30g carbohydrates, 41g protein, and 1,660mg sodium. Choose the fruit side for extra vitamins and fiber for very few calories.

In May 1987, this investment team, led by Herzer, purchased IHOP from SVIDO for an estimated $50 million. IHOP went public again in July 1991 after four years as a successfully self-owned corporation. It sold over eight million shares of its stock in a public offering at $10 per share. This shift back into the public arena paid off for IHOP, and as its month-to-month revenue continued to increase, the value of its stock doubled in less than a year. An early access period for “founding members” of the International Bank of Pancakes runs today through March 29. Sign-up bonuses include 10 PanCoins, free birthday pancakes and no-fee delivery on IHOP app and website orders.

This was Pumpkin Pancake Stout, inspired by IHOP's oh-so-popular pumpkin spice pancakes, and along with the batter, the stout was also infused with pure maple syrup and other fall flavors. In addition to opting for the menu items highlighted here, feel free to build your own meal out of sides—or request a single entrĂ©e item made-to-order without high-calorie sides like hash browns and bacon.

The lunch and dinner menu was also crafted to accommodate the eating habits of IHOP's more nutritionally aware customers by offering vegetarian plates, chicken, and seafood. The nostalgic pancake house has been around since 1958 and now includes nearly 2,000 locations across the United States. As its name suggests, it's most famous for its buttermilk pancakes, which are thick, fluffy circles that come stacked high and smothered in your choice of toppings, from maple syrup to creamy butter to fresh fruit.

Most newly renovated IHOP restaurants doubled their annual sales, and soon many of them were breaking the $1 million mark each year, up from $300,000 a year before the changes. Combos offer mix-and-match customizability, which can be used to make your order of eggs and meat more (or less) nutritious. For meat, turkey bacon instead of pork bacon or sausage will also reduce calories and fat, while still providing 10g protein. This section of IHOP’s menu has a dizzying array of options for every sweet tooth—and it shows in the nutrition information. Most items in the pancakes and crepes section are extremely high-sugar and high-calorie, as well as surprisingly high-sodium.

If you decide to have something heavy, sweet, or extra salty at IHOP, it’s good to remember that healthy eating means a pattern of overall choices, not an isolated meal. Same store sales appeared to be gaining momentum in 2003 as IHOP management worked to position the company as the leading family dining destination in the industry. Usurping competitors Denny's and Waffle House from their top spots, however, was contingent upon the success of the new franchise model and the firm's aggressive branding campaign. Nevertheless, IHOP appeared to be on the right track for future growth. In August 1992, IHOP made another strategic move in its effort to dominate the family-dining market when it acquired 23 units in the Pacific Northwest from JB's Restaurants, Inc. Prior to the acquisition, this geographic area had been almost completely controlled by Denny's, Inc., another large full-service chain whose primary focus is family dining. IHOP's management saw the 23 JB's units as a prime opportunity to penetrate the Pacific Northwest market and quickly began converting the restaurants to the IHOP concept.

Choose the southwest chicken bowl to save 280 calories, 44g carbohydrates, and 680mg sodium. In 1981, IHOP became a private company when Jahn repurchased 52 percent of its stock. Unfortunately, while many thought that Jahn had used the profits from Wienerwald to enact the purchase, he had actually borrowed $8 million to complete the $12 million transaction.

Brace yourself for this — it's been reported that IHOP serves a whopping 700 million pancakes per year, along with 1.5 million gallons of syrup. Of course, you can't have pancakes and syrup without something to wash it down, and that translates to 100 million cups of coffee and 14 million gallons of orange juice that get served along with the breakfast staple. Most of the breakfasts on the menu come with a side of those famous flapjacks, meaning that just about every order counts towards that huge yearly tally.

Unfortunately, the IHOPS stout wasn't mass-marketed, and only 20 barrels were brewed, so there was no chance of it gracing IHOP menus — the only way to taste it was at a handful of New York bars and beer festivals.

It turns out that the cooks just get a little help from a handy batter dispenser. One more thing you've probably noticed about a stack of IHOP pancakes — they're all the same size. Whether it's a short stack or a full stack, there's a uniformity there that you can never seem to achieve with your ladles full of batter at home.

IHOP also began offering special breakfast promotions and deals at its restaurants, believing that customers captured during the breakfast hours would be more likely to return at lunch and dinner as well. For example, in 1985 the Rooty-Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity special--which included two eggs, two sausage links, two bacon strips, two fruit pancakes, and coffee--was offered in various markets for either $1.99 or $2.49. Similar dinner specials were soon introduced at most locations at prices that placed IHOP solidly into the budget and fast-food pricing arena.

Forbes magazine ranked IHOP 102 out of 200 of the best small companies in the United States, one of only three food service companies to be included. Analysts were predicting huge rises in the stock's value, some as high as 60 percent. Although IHOP had just brought attention to itself by entering the public arena in 1991, it had actually been enjoying increases in its revenues every month since the early 1980s.

The strawberry banana French toast provides 830 calories, 31g fat, 11g saturated fat, 120g carbohydrates, 21g protein, 55g sugar, and 790mg sodium. The onion rings contain 550 calories, 30g fat, 5g saturated fat, 62g carbohydrates, 7g protein, and 1,140mg sodium. If craving a savory, fried side, consider the hash browns or French fries, which have 210 or 320 calories, respectively.

The buffalo chicken melt has one of the highest-sodium counts on the entire menu. The sandwich contains 1,280 calories, 80g fat, 22g saturated fat, 86g carbohydrates, 55g protein, and 4,060mg sodium. If looking for a burger with more toppings, consider ordering the classic with bacon instead. It has 880 calories, 60g fat, 20g saturated fat, 46g carbohydrates, 38g protein, and 2,320mg sodium. Several of the burger options contain more than 1,000 calories. The mega monster cheeseburger has 1,140 calories, 81g fat, 30g saturated fat, 44g carbohydrates, 57g protein, and 3,130mg sodium.

Save 180 calories and 28g sugar by choosing the regular size hot chocolate instead. It provides 120 calories, 3g fat, 2.5g saturated fat, 24g carbohydrates, 1g protein, 190mg sodium, and 21g sugar. The large hot chocolate has 300 calories, 8g fat, 6g saturated fat, 57g carbohydrates, 2g protein, 440mg sodium, and 49g sugar.

Here's the hoping IHOPS made a big enough splash that we'll get another chance to taste it in all its pumpkin spice pancake glory. Since the annual fundraiser's inception in 2005, IHOP and its customers have done plenty of good.

In total, it provides 780 calories, 44g fat, 16g saturated fat, 59g carbohydrates, 41g protein, and 2,220mg sodium. The southwest chicken burrito is the highest-calorie option on this end of the menu. It contains 1,360 calories, 85g fat, 34g saturated fat, 88g carbohydrates, 62g protein, and 3,300mg sodium.

Everything You Need to Know About the Haven on Norwegian Prima

norwegian cruise line the haven

Guests staying in this type of Haven accommodation additionally receive complimentary access to the NCL Thermal Spa Suite onboard during regular spa hours. This chic suite features large floor-to-ceiling sweeping windows, with large balcony equipped with lounge chairs. This suite includes a large bedroom, luxury bathroom, and separate living and dining room areas. The Haven is an all-suite private enclave, a virtual ship within a ship, located on the upper decks of certain NCL ships. It offers upgraded accommodations, butler and concierge service, and exclusive access to a range of other special amenities and privileges (to be described below).

Haven Suites

Norwegian Cruise Line pioneered the concept of an exclusive suite enclave, complete with private sun deck and pool surrounded by the ship's top accommodations, in 2005, and adopted The Haven moniker in 2011. The Haven promises exceptional customer service aboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships, luxurious accommodations, relaxing and exclusive spaces, and premium food options. The Haven can be an interesting and luxurious option for guests looking for an elevated experience aboard NCL vessels.

So, you won’t ever have to leave the new sundeck if you don’t want to. Ultimately, the decision as to whether or not The Haven is worth the price will come down to personal preferences (and, of course, one’s budget). Like so many other questions when planning a cruise, deciding whether or not The Haven is worth the price comes down to priorities. Service and food in the restaurant were impeccable, although it’s worth noting that the menu remains the same throughout the week.

The Haven Courtyard and Sundeck

Located inside The Haven complex, The Haven Restaurant is a private, fine-dining experience for the guests staying in the 95 suites of The Haven. The Restaurant serves unique dishes and has some interesting wine selections. The Haven is Norwegian Cruise Line's way of offering the level of service and amenities usually only seen on small boutique ships inside a giant, resort-style cruise ship.

Deluxe Owner’s Suite

Located within the enclave, this private area is specifically created for outdoor luxury. Ample seating in both sunny and shaded sections provide a comfortable spot to lounge in or out of the sun. There are views of the ocean and the opportunity to relax beside the private pools. A bubbling hot tub and bar are included on this sundeck, and a fitness center is nearby.

There are no spa cabins in the Haven that include access to the thermal suite. Further, amenities like the Prima Speedway and the Galaxy Pavilion will still be an up-charge for Haven guests on Norwegian Prima. Not to mention, there are two hot tubs on the second level and spa amenities. Yes, that’s right, you don’t even have to visit the thermal suite as a private Finnish sauna and cold room are located on the Haven Sundeck.

The Haven Accommodations

If you want the extra space and butler/concierge service, but not the price tag attached to the other exclusive Haven amenities, there are other suite options available. In addition to the suites, restaurant, and courtyard, The Haven complex on the Norwegian Escape also has this nice indoor lounge for the enjoyment of the guests. Inside the lounge is The Haven Concierge desk, where guests can make dining, spa, or entertainment reservations. Here, the menu offers a range of gourmet dishes exclusive to Haven guests. And if that’s not enough, you can order anything from any of the other restaurants or main dining on board and complimentary room service is always available. Suite amenities include pluses like a cappuccino machine, luxury bath products and a welcome bottle of sparkling wine, as well as fruit and bottled water, on embarkation day.

Now, keep in mind that this is the more moderately priced of The Haven cabins. When pricing out cabins on Norwegian Prima in a Haven Penthouse balcony versus a standard balcony cabin, the cost is 2.5 to 3x more. In terms of in-room amenities, there’s a nespresso machine and luxury bath products. You will also notice upgraded linens, pillow-top mattresses, plush bathrobes and slippers, and oversized bath towels. In recent years, this “ship within a ship” concept has become popular in the cruise industry as it provides the best of both worlds. Guests have access to all the amenities and attractions found on mega-ships of today.

norwegian cruise line the haven

As a Haven keycard holder, you will have priority reservations and seating at all entertainment venues. Before the butler leaves, inquire about getting everyone an NCL mobile phone. It is quite useful to have for communicating while on board the ship. While there, staff return for all the check-in procedures while you relax. In a matter of minutes, you are escorted to the ship and onto an elevator. Moments later, you are surrounded by luxury with a concierge at hand and more drinks and snacks about.

This Spa Suite includes all of the features and amenities as the Deluxe Spa Suite with Balcony, however, this suite does not include a separate living room area, making its square footage slightly smaller. Designed to be a romantic hideaway for guests, this suite includes a round queen-sized bed and floor-to-ceiling windows to capture the passing ocean views. Guests staying in one of the 50 Haven suites at the bow are probably most likely to forget they are on a mega-ship. Honestly though, with the current promotions for other stateroom categories, we find it hard to justify paying for these accommodations. As much as we loved the new sundeck, the extra cabin space, and the other exclusive perks and amenities, we also loved the rest of the ship. Thus, for the amount of time we spent in The Haven, the higher price point isn’t worth it for us.

For example, I was surprised that the Getaway‘s Haven courtyard does not have a covered/retractable roof. That would have been a nice perk when sailing out of New York City in March, and it is something that several other NCL ships feature. Sure, we went to several specialty restaurants but opted for The Haven’s restaurant for most of our meals.

The Haven Courtyard and Sundeck are exclusive areas for guests to relax and rejuvenate. The Courtyard, accessible to all Haven guests, includes a pool and lounging areas, ideal for families. The Sundeck, for guests aged 16 and over, offers a more adult-oriented retreat with sunbathing and hot tub facilities. Attendants provide personalized drink service, allowing guests to enjoy beverages and small snacks without leaving the comfort of their lounge chairs. Guests of The Haven have special access to dining spaces apart from that of the complimentary and specialty dining onboard NCL ships.

Priority embarkation, debarkation, seating at shows and dining reservations also come de facto with that special metallic Haven keycard. Small fees, like the charge for room service, are waived for passengers in suites on Norwegian Cruise Line. On some ships (Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Epic), Haven guests are given a mobile phone that they can use throughout the ship. Many of The Haven’s spaces are child friendly, while some spaces are reserved for older and adult guests. The Courtyard pool area for example is accessible to all guests, while The Haven Sundeck is reserved for guests 16 years and older.

The Haven Restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience, accompanied by exceptional service. Guests of The Haven additionally have the option to have meals served to them in their stateroom by a Haven butler. Technically, The Haven is a very particular area — accessible by a special keycard — which on most ships contains a lounge area, bar, private pool and sundeck, restaurant, and concierge desk. While some suites are located within The Haven, many are found behind the enclave but still have access to it. The four Deluxe Owner's Suites on the Norwegian Escape is the cruise ship's largest and most luxurious accommodations. Measuring 1,345 square feet, these suites have a living room with a dining area, wet bar, guest bedroom with luxurious bath, separate bath, and two balconies.

Think of an upscale resort pool at the top of the ship, except it’s reserved just for you and a select few. With NCL Haven lounge access, you can easily find a quiet corner to unwind or mingle with fellow cruisers in this cozy hideaway, away from the lively energy of the rest of the ship. At the heart of The Haven is the Lounge, a space designed for serenity. Now that I’ve given you a little taste of what The Haven is, let’s get into the details of what a stay in a Haven stateroom includes. But first of all here is a little sneek peek inside The Haven on Norwegian Joy.

Another feature of the Haven on Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva is that the suites and rooms are all in the same area of the ship, connected by an elevator. This makes it feel more like a true “ship within a ship” than the Havens on the other vessels. While Norwegian Encore is no longer brand-new, it is NCL’s newest ship, a cruise line known for having the newest fleet at sea.

Houthi militants, also backed by Iran, have been going after international commercial vessels passing through the Red Sea in recent months. The group's leaders claim they're targeting ships with links to Israel in response to the country's ongoing invasion of Gaza. Demonstrators wave a huge Iranian flag in an anti-Israeli gathering in front of an anti-Israeli banner on the wall of a building at the Felestin (Palestine) Square in Tehran, Iran, on Monday. The conflict between Israel and Palestinians — and other groups in the Middle East — goes back decades. These stories provide context for current developments and the history that led up to them.

Individuals seeking to depart Gaza through the Rafah crossing into Egypt should monitor the Palestinian General Authority for Crossings and Borders’ Facebook Page for a list of those approved to cross. U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, or immediate family (as listed below) who desire our assistance and have not already provided their information to the Department of State, please email U.S. Embassy Jerusalem at  with a copy of the individual’s travel document as well as an explanation or proof of relationship. These awe-inspiring cruises offer diverse itineraries that will bring you to historic sites in both Israel and other eastern Mediterranean destinations.

Layers are the key when it comes to what to pack for a cruise to Israel. Even if you're traveling in the summer, you never know when you may come across a breezy day or chilly evening so it's best to be prepared with a light sweater or jacket. If you choose to cruise during the winter in Israel, expect heavy rain and bring an umbrella and waterproof jacket.

Israel Cruises

The U.S. government does not control the crossing lists nor determine who is permitted to depart Gaza or enter Egypt. Individuals must assess their own safety and risks in attempting to cross the border. Individuals permitted to enter Egypt will likely receive a 72-hour Egyptian visa; all those who cross should have a plan for onward travel from Egypt in this timeframe.

One final note -- even as cruise travelers eagerly book Eastern Mediterranean cruises to see the Holy Land, many continue to be concerned about safety. Yes, terrorist attacks and other violence occur in Israel but, because of this, security measures are extensive and effective. Armed guards are plentiful, your bags will be searched and you may be diverted from areas where tensions are high. Don't let fear prevent you from enjoying this incredible city, which truly can offer something for everyone. Just get a good night's sleep, put on your most comfortable walking shoes, charge the camera batteries and be prepared to be wowed by a city that has rightly claimed more than its fair share of space in the history books.

You’ll also visit mountaintop Masada, where Jewish Zealots were besieged by the Romans. Caesarea is another archaeological wonder, with the excavated Herod’s Palace, a Roman theater, hippodrome, baths, a Crusaders’ fort, Byzantine Market and an aqueduct. Mt. Carmel is also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, near the ancient city of Tiberius, Zippori National Park and the Golan Heights. Many businesses in Israel close for the Jewish Sabbath, observed from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday.

The U.S. Embassy continues to closely monitor the dynamic security situation in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. There are active military operations and active rocket and mortar fire in Gaza and the Gaza periphery. Terrorist groups, lone-actor terrorists and other violent extremists continue plotting possible attacks in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.

When visiting religious sites, dress modestly and for women especially, wear sleeves below the elbow and skirts below the knees. Jerusalem contains so many places of religious and historic importance that it well deserves a two-day visit. Panoramic views of the Old City and the Temple Mount are available from the Mount of Olives or the Haas-Sherover Promenade. Various tours visit Mt. Zion, the Room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb. The Old City Walls encompass Zion Gate, the Dung Gate and the Western (Wailing) Wall.

Ashdod also provides access to UNESCO-designated Tel Aviv and the Dead Sea, while Haifa leads to Galilee and the Golan Heights. Take full advantage on an Israel overland adventure that combines Jerusalem with pilgrimages to Masada or Bethlehem. If a name has appeared on a crossing list since November 1, we understand those individuals will be permitted to cross as long as the border remains open for foreign nationals. We urge U.S. citizens, LPRs, and their immediate family members who have appeared on one of these lists to cross as soon as possible – there is no guarantee the border will remain open. We continue to work in partnership with Egypt and Israel towards safe passage for U.S. citizens, LPRs, and their immediate family members.

U.S. citizens, LPRs and their immediate family members who successfully enter Egypt and require further consular assistance should contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate; U.S. immigration laws and regulations will apply. Cruising to Israel with Celebrity offers you the chance to explore one of the world's oldest and most historic countries in luxury.

Jerusalem’s origins date back to 4000 BC, making it one of the oldest cities in the world. Touring the Old City is fascinating, as layers of history are peeled back; you can even see down through occasional glass-covered sections in the sidewalk to excavations dating back to Roman times and earlier. Follow in the last footsteps of Christ, and see ancient olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane. Take time to sample the local lunch specialty, hummus and falafel stuffed into a warm pita, with salad. The Dead Sea is said to offer visitors relief from any ailments due to its healing properties, and is also known as the ‘lowest health spa in the world’. The composition of salts and minerals in the water are what makes it so beneficial for the body.

Answered: What’s the Cheapest Time to Take a Cruise?

Think of all the options you have to consider — the length of your trip, the cruise line, the ship, the date, ports of call, and more. And that’s before you even decide on which website to use to book your cruise. Avalon Waterways offers cruises on the rivers of Europe, Asia, Egypt and the Galapagos.

How to choose the right cruise ship cabin

The bad news is that you’re charged a $24.99 processing fee on every booking. It also does a nice job of showing exactly what’s included and what might cost extra. If you’re only concerned about finding the cheapest price, scroll down to the price comparison section at the bottom of this post to see how all of these sites stack up against each other. Dubbed Evrima, the line's only operating ship is a 298-passenger vessel designed to appeal to Ritz-Carlton regulars with an elegant, residential look. A second, bigger ship called Ilma that's already open for bookings debuts later this year. Multistory waterslides, ropes courses and even go-kart race tracks are among the gee-whiz attractions atop Norwegian Cruise Line's giant, resort-like ships.

Celebrity Cruises

But the furry companion must perform specific tasks for its owner, such as guiding to assist in overcoming sight-impairment. Themed cruises are cruises where a part of the trip is based on a theme or special interest such as Broadway shows, music, media or even crafts like knitting. Some themes are cruise-wide, while others are group itineraries with exclusive activities. These are some of the most popular itineraries because of their accessibility, affordability and wide variety of activities.

Unfortunately, there’s no one site that always offers the best cruise deals. Most of the OTAs like CheapCaribbean.com, Cruises.com, or Priceline offer the same prices. The difference usually comes when you factor in extras like onboard credit or free gratuities. Orbitz is a typical OTA that offers flights, hotels, car rentals, vacation packages, and cruises. However, the price guarantee isn’t as strong as some of the other sites — you’ll need to find a lower price within 24 hours to receive the difference in price as a refund. The site is straightforward, easy to use, and offers cruises from all the major cruise lines.

The ships tend to be large – some can carry more than 6,000 passengers – and are packed with amenities. Single cruisers on Norwegian have access to a dedicated lounge and meetups where they can mingle with other travelers, too. That’s not to mention all the regular activities and excursions Norwegian offers, from rock climbing and bowling to spa treatments to boxing classes. Those who are watching their spending closely should be careful, though. Extras like shore excursions and souvenirs can add up quickly, as can certain on-board activities. Carnival also offers all-inclusive rates that will help avoid any surprise expenses, but travelers should of course be prepared to spend more up front.

Popular Cruises:

It offers the chance to sail up into the most spectacular sights in Alaska and interact with native huskies, goats, and even bears. The Discovery Princess has advantage over other cruise ships as the vessel is designed to sail deeper into the crevices surrounding Alaska than normal cruise ships. Viking Ocean Cruises provides a luxury portal to visit the cities, meet the people, explore the cultures and savor the cuisine of the world. The beauty of small ship cruises is the opportunity to dock directly in the exotic smaller ports allowing for more time ashore. Tours and excursions include many private experiences, early entry and behind-the-curtain glimpses into events, museums and performances.

Neither is better than the other, and both types of cruises have challenges that come with it. No offense to the cruise lines that only sail in one region but if you want to work on a cruise line to travel… doing the same 3 and 4 night itineraries in the Bahamas is going to be disappointing. However, it’s important to research salary expectations and work-life balance before committing to a contract. However, based on my employment (as well as that of my husband who also works for a cruise line) as well as stock ownership my opinion may biased. If you’re on a cruise that costs $2,000 a week you’re going to be dealing with a different type of passenger than those that are paying $200 for a 4 night weekend getaway.

The process isn’t as simple as going on a job board and emailing your resume. You need to know certain things about getting a job on a cruise ship, especially if you have no experience. Ten years ago I spent the better part of a year working abroad the Queen Mary 2, a UK-based cruise ship operated by the Cunard Line. 10 things to know before you book an Alaska cruise

royal caribbean cruise alaska

Many first-time cruisers are surprised to see how expensive shore excursions can be on an Alaska cruise. Shore excursions on Alaska cruises tend to be significantly more expensive than shore excursions in the Caribbean. One-way itineraries do not need to stop in Victoria as they begin or end in Vancouver, Canada. Because of this, these 7-night cruises include four port stops in Alaska instead of three, in addition to a glacier viewing day.

What are good excursions to do that are not booked with the cruise line?

It can actually get fairly warm in Alaska during the day in the summer, so having a few t-shirts and even a pair of shorts can be a good idea. Even though your Royal Caribbean cruise will take you to Alaska during the warmer months of the year, it can get downright cold (and wet) during your Alaska cruise. Each port you visit will take you to some terrific spots to eat, so don't rely purely on your Yelp app once in town. Figure out the restaurants and bars you want to go to before you leave home, especially if you are interested in enjoying the best crab, salmon and beers of Alaska.

Try not to worry about the weather

Dotted along most Alaska cruise ports are small, historic saloons filled with local history, and drinking at a saloon is a quintessential part of visiting any small town in Alaska. Our recommendation is to plan shore excursions for the morning and spend the afternoon walking around the port to try local food and drinks. Alaska is a dream for active cruisers, offering some of the country’s most magnificent nature and mountains to explore. All Alaska cruise ports offer fantastic day hike opportunities, from the easiest of trails to the most challenging. While whale watching may be popular, don’t miss the opportunity to spot more of Alaska’s amazing wildlife while in port. Bears, eagles, salmon, sea lions, sea otters, and other wildlife are often able to be spotted on an Alaska cruise.

Some highly desirable cruise cabins sell out quickly, especially the aft balcony cabins on the Radiance Class ships. The cruise line will send four cruise ships to Alaska in 2023, matching the amount of ships it has been sending to the region in the years prior. The cheapest months to cruise Alaska are in the shoulder season of April, May, and September, although these months don’t always bring the best weather. The busiest times to cruise Alaska are in June, July, and August, so you should expect more crowds during this time of year. If you cruise to Alaska in late September and expect sunny skies, warm temperatures, and 18 hours of daylight, you’re going to end up disappointed. Likewise, if you’re hoping to find a cheap cruise deal to Alaska in the peak of summer, your chances are slim.

The Yukon Territory, like much of Alaska, offers rugged terrain, fascinating culture, and breathtaking scenery. One big mistake we made on our Alaska cruise was not taking the time to research where to eat in the various ports we visited. Alaska has some amazing local cuisine, but there are a lot of pretenders alongside the great stuff.

Know what to pack for an Alaska cruise

Two Royal Caribbean ships sail from Seattle to Alaska each summer, with Ovation of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas offering Alaska cruises each season. These large, modern Quantum Class cruise ships are perfect for any passenger due to the variety of dining options, activities, and cabin categories you’ll find onboard. Helicopter and flightseeing tours are both popular shore excursions in Alaska, offering the unique opportunity to view the state’s nature from above. Helicopter tours often include a landing atop one of Alaska’s glaciers, where visitors have the chance to walk–or dogsled–on the glacier itself. If a balcony won’t hurt your budget, by all means, book one for your Alaska cruise—there’s no doubt that having a balcony cabin is nice when sailing through Alaska.

Roundtrip sailings depart and return to Seattle, Washington, and this is often more affordable and logistically easier than starting and ending in different ports. In most cases, Seattle is the best embarkation port for most American passengers, as it’s usually easier to travel to Seattle compared to Vancouver or Seward. There are ample direct flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, making traveling to the city easier and more affordable. The vast majority of Royal Caribbean Alaska cruises are 7 nights, although you may occasionally find a 6 or 8-night itinerary.

In most Alaska cruise ports, you will find stands selling tours as soon as you disembark the cruise ship. These tours can be booked day-of and may be priced significantly lower than those booked onboard. While cruise ports do differ in history, local attractions, and size, many ports offer the same type of excursions to book. Activities like whale watching, kayaking, nature walks, gold rush towns, museums, and food tours are available in nearly every cruise port. Fortunately, Royal Caribbean designs their cruise ships with an abundance of places to enjoy ocean views without a balcony.

There is no “perfect” itinerary for an Alaska cruise, and one itinerary is not necessarily better than another. This comprehensive guide has everything you need to know about planning an Alaska cruise to ensure you have the best vacation possible and make memories to last a lifetime. An Alaska cruise will take you on a journey to visit some of the most magnificent natural beauty and local culture you'll find anywhere in the world.

The shortest cruise and land tour combinations offered by Royal Caribbean are 9 nights, and they include a 7-night cruise and 2 nights in Alaska’s interior, during which you will visit Denali. A balcony is the most common choice for an Alaska cruise, as it allows you to enjoy the state’s scenery from the comfort and privacy of your own cabin. Even if it’s too cold to stay on the balcony all day, you can still enjoy views of the outside from the warmth of your couch or bed in the stateroom. While we can’t say for sure whether or not you’ll be able to convince someone to go on an Alaska cruise, it might not be as challenging as you think.

Some cruises to Alaska are one-way only, though, starting in Vancouver and ending in Seward, Alaska or vice versa. This is to allow for pre and post-Cruisetours to Alaska or Canada, allowing guests to experience more inland destinations like Denali National Park and Preserve and Banff National Park. Whether you’re confused about what to pack or overwhelmed with the dozens of shore excursion offerings, the planning process can quickly seem more stressful than enjoyable. Royal Caribbean offers two quite different classes of ships sailing a variety of itineraries in Alaska. There are also slight differences between the individual ships themselves, even within the same class. The biggest benefit of sailing on Radiance of the Seas to Alaska, though, is having the opportunity to book a one-way cruise itinerary.

Despite not visiting Glacier Bay, Royal Caribbean puts an incredible product out with their Alaska cruises. The tours are guided and include accommodation at charming lodges and hotels, a scenic train ride, and visits to destinations including Denali and Fairbanks. If traveling all the way to Alaska, though, we advise planning more days for a cruise and land trip. Many guests prefer spending an additional week in Alaska’s interior, giving them extra time to visit other areas like Anchorage and Fairbanks. In September, you can expect to see more rainfall compared to other months and temperatures will be chillier compared to peak summer.

Inside vs outside cabin: Which affordable cruise room is best for you?

inside the royal caribbean cruise

It certainly did the trick for me and when I took the time to put a lot of things in there just to get a nice photo for this article, I realized I had gotten rid of a lot of little things off my desk. For years, we just picked a corner of the cabin and designated it "laundry corner" and tossed all the dirty laundry there. The idea is since the walls are metal, you can put magnets up to get certain other items off the desk, couch, or floor and free up that space. I think this might be better for my kids, who seem to think noon is too early to get up while on a cruise. The benefit of this light would be if I woke up on my own a half hour early, I could more easily determine if I could just get about and go rather than turn over and try to fall back asleep. As advertised, the light was off when I went to sleep and on when I woke up.

Meanwhile, Monica was not able to choose her room as that costs extra, and was assigned one that was located on deck one — the bottom floor of the 15-deck ship. In April, Joey Hadden took her first cruise onboard Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world that can hold about 7,000 guests. During Joey's seven-night voyage, the ship sailed to RoatĂ¡n, Honduras; Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico; and Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. When it's all finished in a few months, Surfside will be lined with colorful deck chairs so parents can lounge with their feet up or soak in the pool while maintaining sightlines to their playing kids.

Turkish Desserts to Sweeten your Vacation

Having your own balcony means you have a special spot on the ship just for you to enjoy, that provides views all around the ship, as well as that terrific ocean breeze. Many cruise fans swear by a balcony for the added space, private area and ambiance that only a balcony room can provide. Oceanview cabins at the front are a hidden gem because of how much more space they provide. Some are categorized as family cabins, and have bunk beds for the kids, along with separate bedrooms. Given their odd shape, you may find sloping walls and even a pole in the middle of the room.

The Pearl Café with sweeping ocean views

A version of the Hooked Seafood restaurant found on some other Royal Caribbean ships will be among the options. In short, Icon of the Seas, the first of an all-new class of vessels for Royal Caribbean, will be, hands down, the ultimate megaresort at sea. And as a result, it'll be the ship that finally tops Royal Caribbean's hugely successful Oasis-class vessels to reign supreme in the world of giant cruise ships. Virgin Voyages' sea-view cabins are among the best-in-class porthole cabins.

Spacious Ocean View

From more space to better locations, this guide will help you decide if the differences are worth an upgrade from an inside cabin to an oceanview. Choosing between an inside cabin and an oceanview cabin for your next cruise? These budget-friendly cabins are both excellent options for a cruise vacation, but there are several differences to know about between the two cabins before booking one over the other. The Central Park balconies offer the same fresh air and light that ocean view balconies do but with the opportunity to enjoy the ambiance of Central Park along with the people watching aspect. In addition, Central Park view balcony staterooms are often slightly cheaper than ocean balconies. It's not cheap ($200 per person), but Royal Caribbean wants to offer a truly elevated and distinguished meal for those seeking more than just another specialty restaurant. As usual, I was envious of the teen club because of how chill this place looks. Good luck convincing those kids it's time to leave when there's pools, a carousel, mac and cheese, and Shirley Temples all around you. Splashaway Bay, Baby Bay, and the adults pool look great and I think parents will appreciate having a place to bring the kids that's more contained than the pool deck without compromising on what there is for the parents. I've always thought of Royal Caribbean as the best family cruise line already, but I wish we had Surfside when my kids were under the age of 10. If you're wondering if Rover can be as cute as the photos show, you'd be correct.

Inside cabins are the quietest cabins onboard

I spent my time there perched at one of its in-water loungers, contently splashing my legs around the water, wondering if I actually hated cruises. If you're a frequent cruiser — especially with Royal Caribbean — amenities like the mini-golf course and water playground may not seem exciting. Housekeeping laid out a mat so Monica could unpack a suitcase on her bed on the first day.

The base is magnetic too, so that means you can attach it to any wall or door in your cabin. Since there's no outside light, trying to navigate the room without lights on can be a challenge, such as when you wake up from sleeping and need to get to the bathroom. In addition to inside cabins being super small and inexpensive, they're also very dark.

Meanwhile, those without kids can pay between $39 to $89 per person for a boozy day at the adult-only Hideaway Beach. Icon of the Seas will dock at Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay private island for all 2024 sailings. But the same can't be said for Crown's Edge, one of the ship's most distinctive amenities.

Natural light is important to many guests, and the ocean view provides that. Essentially, oceanview rooms are slightly larger inside rooms with a window. Celebrity Cruises' Edge class features three ocean-view options, starting with the budget-friendly standard ocean-view cabins with a porthole set behind a recessed sitting ledge. Consider a nominal upgrade in price to the line's deluxe ocean-view cabins (on some itineraries you'll pay just $47 more per person), where large floor-to-ceiling windows fill the room with light.

There’s nothing wrong with spending time relaxing in my cabin, but I love how inside cabins almost force me to spend time elsewhere. Although inside cabins are cozy, there’s no view to admire outside, and I’d much prefer spending my day in other, more interesting areas of the ship. Recently, in fact, I sailed in one of Royal Caribbean’s most expensive and luxurious suites, and it was certainly an experience I’ll cherish for a long time. You may also find interior rooms with virtual balconies -- floor-to-ceiling LED screens that display live footage from outside the ship, creating the sensation that you're looking out a window. Your room will have four walls and no windows offering a glimpse of the outside world (at least, not a traditional window — more on that in a moment).

Since she booked an ocean-view room, Joey was able to look out over the front of the ship from a window above her bed. An electronic shade over the window could be brought down during the day for some grand views. Monica was not charged any additional fees for traveling solo, likely because the ship was running at partial capacity during its July 2021 sailing. According to USA Today, Carnival does charge a single supplement for solo cruisers but often runs promotions that waive the fee.

The Coast Guard deployed a C-130 Hercules plane from Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and another C-130 crew responded from Clearwater, Florida, to relieve the first. "It just hurts too much to even type, let alone talk about it," fiancĂ©e Jennilyn Michelle Blosser told WTKR. On his way there, he noticed the two brothers and their dad, Francel Parker, coming out of the sliding doors near the elevators. Sims hung out with Parker and his brother, Seth, 18, in the hot tub in the early hours of April before going their separate ways around 4 a.m. “When we got to them, he said to his dad, ‘I’ll fix this right now.’ And he jumped out the window in front of us all,” Sims said. The final port scheduled for the cruise is in Cozumel, Mexico, before returning to New Orleans.

Man, 35, Falls Overboard Ship on His 'First Cruise,' Fiancée Says amid Search for Missing Passenger

The Coast Guard confirmed that its crews are "actively searching near the Port of Miami and along the South Florida shore" after the missing person's report Monday. "The Coast Guard is searching an approximately 200-mile area for an unaccounted-for 28-year-old man from the Carnival Glory cruise ship," the Coast Guard wrote in a Tuesday morning post on X, formerly Twitter. On average, 19 people go overboard on cruise ships every year — and of those, only about four are rescued, according to a 2020 study commissioned by the industry trade group Cruise Lines International Association. Officials are searching for a man who went overboard while traveling on a Carnival cruise ship this week. In the 10 days since cruise passenger Brad Solomon disappeared during a port call in Cozumel, his family have teamed up with local military and rescuers to pull out all the stops to bring him home safely.

He said he spent hours treading water while fending off ocean dwellers and was ultimately spotted by the crew of a bulk carrier vessel before being rescued by the Coast Guard. A missing 28-year-old cruise passenger on the Carnival Glory is believed to have gone overboard on Monday, and the Coast Guard is searching the waters near New Orleans to find him. The family of a missing Louisiana dad who officials said was filmed jumping off a Carnival cruise ship say they’ve now also seen the footage — and are convinced he slipped over the edge in a tragic accident.

"In the video we showed to his family, he can be seen intentionally opening a gate, walking into a restricted area, and jumping from a lifeboat," a Carnival spokesperson told FOX Business in a statement. In the meantime, anyone who would like to support the family from home can share his image and missing persons fliers on social media or donate to the GoFundMe, which has already raised over $27,000 (USD) to bring Brad home. The local military and civilian search and rescue leaders are focusing efforts in the jungle now.

Merrian Carver was 40 when she went missing on a seven-day Royal Caribbean cruise in 2004 and her father later founded the International Cruise Victims organization. He claims Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises tried to cover up his daughter’s disappearance and worked against his investigators in the wake of the incident. Jeffrey Maltzman, Royal Caribbean's attorney, told ABC News in 2009 there was no evidence of a cover-up. "Only on Tuesday were we advised of the possibility of him wearing a different shirt, which allowed our security team to change the profile of the guest as we searched onboard video," Lupoli said in an emailed statement.

A 65-year-old woman was found dead after jumping overboard in 2015, and another passenger, a 21-year-old student, was never found after falling overboard south of the Bahamas that same year. The ship and crew immediately reported the incident to local authorities and launched a search and rescue mission,” a company rep told The Post in an email. The man appears to have jumped from the fourth deck shortly before 2 a.m. A family member reported the passenger missing on Monday morning.

"What's important to me is to know where he's at and to have him home, whether he's alive or not, I want his body to be home." The cruise line said teams were helping Barnett's family members who were still on board and that the US Coast Guard cleared Carnival Glory to carry on with its cruise. “It makes you feel crazy to be stuck on a ship where everyone else is having a good time. It was supposed to be a vacation, but for us, it’s hell,” she told the outlet. Reid said Carnival initially told her daughter, who was on the trip, that there was no video of the incident – and she added that she didn’t find out Barnett was missing until a cousin messaged her.

McGrath said later Monday morning — as the cruise was ending and passengers were disembarking — the family gathered for breakfast, but Kevin never showed up. Miami-Dade police issued a missing person's alert Tuesday morning for McGrath, who was last seen in a black shirt, shorts and gray sneakers. Police said he "may be in need of services" and asked anyone with information to contact authorities. "We have informed the U.S. Coast Guard and are providing assistance to the guest’s family that was traveling with him," they added. The passenger’s grandmother told NBC News his passenger card was last used at the ship’s casino and later at his cabin, adding his phone was left in his room and his bed wasn’t slept in. Reeta Sahani, 64, was reported missing after her husband, Jakesh Sahani, 70, woke up in the middle of the night and noticed she was not in their cabin.

His worried wife notified local police immediately and the family – along with local military and rescue teams, as well as representatives from Royal Caribbean – have been searching for the 66-year-old man ever since. The Coast Guard launched search and rescue crews Thursday afternoon and alerted nearby ships to be watchful. NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says a passenger who went overboard from a cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico was rescued on Thanksgiving after likely being in the water for hours. James Michael Grimes survived in the Gulf of Mexico for 20 hours after going overboard the Carnival Valor cruise ship last November.

"New security footage discovered by Carnival Glory shows the man jumping off the cruise ship," the Coast Guard posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday night. All cruise ships are required to have 42-inch guard rails and man-overboard imaging under the 2010 Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act. But BI previously reported that many ships had yet to implement newer technology that automatically detects when a person goes overboard by using thermal cameras and radars that promptly alert crew members.

"We have informed the U.S. Coast Guard and are providing assistance to the guest’s family that was traveling with him." There have been several high-profile cruise ship disappearances that were never solved. A British crew member of the Disney Wonder ship, Rebessa Coriam, has been missing for more than 12 years. She was last seen on CCTV footage in the crew lounge onboard the ship in March of 2011, but was not found anywhere onboard the ship following her disappearance and there is no evidence she went overboard.

“They hit a wave and he went down off the lifeboat,” Reid, who was not on the ship, told Business Insider. Barnett’s mother Elisha Reid told Business Insider that her daughter was previously informed that there was no footage of what happened. McGrath is urging other passengers who may have seen him that morning to speak up. In June, a 42-year-old woman was rescued after she fell off Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas about 25 miles south of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic during its voyage from Florida.
